I work for a car dealership so exceptionally good deals fall into my lap. Like the S4 Avant, my last ZHP, my Raptor, my 08 R32, my 2015 S4 I bought brand new under the Audi Employee Program. Also those are cars I have had from when I was 16.

When I find the right ones like my E90 M3 I hold onto them but I am very very picky. I hope to find the perfect ZHP soon. My last one was close but this time I hope to not have to do any rust repair.

Man this is beautiful! What was the sale price? This would have been a hoot to daily instead of the Sportwagen, but I couldn't pass up a warranty on a new car.

trust me, you are better off with the ZHP. you don't want to own an audi long-term... especially the early V8 S4s.

Agreed. The whole "engine out for timing chain tensioners and other wear bits" thing isn't really my bag.

It was a great car that I had always wanted to own!

To touch on the whole timing chains and Audi ownership coming from someone that works for the dealership. That is mostly BS really. Do they fail? Yes. Does it happen often? No. I have had clients with S4s that have 140k+ on the original chains and 0 noise at all on cold start or anything.

It all depends on previous maintenance and care. If the PO followed the Audi schedule at 10k/yearly services it will probably need chains between 90-110k but if they change the oil every 3-5k it will for sure outlast that period. Mine had absolutely 0 chain noise and was great. The new owner had been searching for that exact car for a while and didn't even try to negotiate or anything.
