    HEADLIGHT WORKING INDEPENDENTLY ONLY

    Hi All,

New to the forum here. I just picked up a 05 ZHP and found that the driver side headlight is out. I did some troubleshooting, and it turns out that when I have both headlights plugged in, only the passenger light comes on.

    I did the following:

Swapped headlight. With ONLY the passenger headlight plugged into the driver side, the light turns ON. With ONLY the driver side plugged into the passenger side, the light turns ON. When I have both plugged in, ONLY the passenger light turns ON.

I know its not the headlight since they work independently. Any thoughts?

Do you have access to PA Soft? I would try to pull the codes from the LCM. To me it sounds like a fault in the LCM module.

That's where I'd start too...You need a BMW specific code reader, not a common OBDII code reader. I believe this member is still selling the PA Soft software and cable...

Thanks for the reply. I disconnected the battery for a couple minutes this morning and after reconnecting it the lights are now working fine together.

It's not the car you drive, it's how you drive it.
