    (Sold): Dynavin N6-E46

I purchased this unit from J & T Distributing in April of this year. I installed it and used it for maybe a week. It works great and fits perfectly in the E46, but I wanted Apple CarPlay and decided to upgrade to a new Pioneer 8201 NEX instead of buying the CarPlay kit from Dynavin.

It comes with everything except the microphone and the GPS antenna. You can both on Amazon for under 20 bucks. I shortened and spliced the power jack cord on the back of the unit for a better fit.

I paid $650 for it and it's still under the factory warranty. I'm asking $450 + whatever shipping costs may be incurred.

    Thanks!

@Fredo I believe it drops in place of the Nav, or replaces the business radio after some relocation of the HVAC and installation of a mounting adapter.

@Bludsport: will the Pioneer 8201 NEX just drop in?

It works with or without factory nav, but I think youll need a 'Fakra' cable from J & T if you have factory nav. The J & T website explains it. The cable is about 80 bucks I think.

    Hmm...not really

It's definitely a custom install, but it really wasn't that bad. No particular skill sets required, just patience. In order to fit any double din head unit in the E46 dash, you have to cut away part of the heater box and either relocate the heaters floor vents, or in my case, just remove them. Then you have to fabricate a new top for the heater box to accommodate the radio. I made a new cover out of some sheet metal I got at a big box store then sealed it all up with aluminum HVAC tape and covered that with some speaker box carpet I had lying around. The last step is totally unnecessary, but I'm a little anal so I couldn't resist.

Here some shots of the install:

HOLD UP. Is that a metal coolant transport pipe?! On a BMW?!?!?!

Now why couldn't they have used a little more metal and made the ones in the engine bay less of a pain in the ass?! Ugh.

Anyway. Great pics. Love seeing quality custom installs.
