    DME and Check Engine Light

    Hey Guys,

About two weeks ago, I noticed the 2500-4000 rpm stutter. Friend of mine recommends me to get the DME software update at the dealer.

Then, a couple of days ago I got the check engine light (service engine soon).

Will the DME reflash likely take care of the check engine light too? Looking for some advice/recommendations.

And any indy shop recommendations in Santa Monica, California?

It's really not possible to say without knowing the code behind the CEL. I think (not a 100% sure) auto zone should be able to pull the codes for free using an OBD2 code reader...

Sounds like a missfire. Get the dme scanned to see what prompted the light to illuminate

Go to Advance Auto and borrow their scanner (or have them do it) so we know what codes are present.

Wanted to update the forum on what was causing the check engine light. The following were faulty and needed replacement:

    (1) Crankcase sensor (pulse generator) - Part # 12141709616
    (2) Coolant temperature sensor - Part # 13621433077
    (3) Temp sensor - Part # 65816936953

I assume the crankcase sensor was the one causing the check engine light?
