How do you remove the hand brake handle?

Got a new boot and want to use the e90 M-sport handle with perforated leather because it'll match my new wheel.

Only thing is I can't remove the factory handle. I read elsewhere that you need to heat it up. Is this true? I was able to peal the crappy old leather that was on there but there's still the hard black plastic grip. Can anyone else give their techniques?

    Joe

It took a little work but I got it off. Had to heat it up with a hair dryer and used pliers to twist it back and forth. It was nothing like my e92 handle. That just popped right off.
