I put those bavsound speakers in just now. They sound a LOT better than that HKs. totally worth it.

Right off the bat? Damn. Mine sounded the same as the HK after install (I did one side of the car to compare), but amazing after a few months of break in.

My old speakers were pretty bad. They were kind of buzzy and worn out. But it’s good to hear they get better.

I really liked the bavsound right off the bat, but adding a subwoofer after that made all the difference.

Nice, that’s next for me. After I finish a bunch of other little things that always seem to be popping up.

OK, so I put in the bavsound speakers and they worked fine. I checked and every speaker was working. Later, I disconnected the battery and replaced the door airbag and splice in a new connector. Sometime after that, I noticed that the front right door speakers weren't working. All 3 were out. From what I understand, it could be either the amp or the head unit. Any ideas how to test these or anything? If it is the amp, how hard would it be to use an aftermarket amp and do a sub while I'm at it?

I have no clue. Perhaps you can post on the "Random E46/ZHP Question Thread" and get more visibility.

Well, I have some free time and I might need to make a long drive soon so I've started my next project. Last year I rebuild the entire front end and added koni struts. Now, I'm rebuilding the rear end suspension and adding the rear koni shocks/struts. And rebuilding the shifter, adding a short shifter, replacing the power steering hoses and reservoir.

So hopefully I'll be done this afternoon
