Try Silkolene Pro prep to finish off the engine compartment. I promise you won't be disappointed... makes plastic, rubber, etc look brand new. I discovered it years ago when I was doing motocross. Made the beat up scratched plastic on my bike look new again and it puts a protective film on everything. Started using it on everything... even interior plastic. You can spray it on and leave it or wipe it down

Danke, Pizza. Love the clutch stop!

The difference is really negligible, I paid around $30 for this rubber seal from the dealer here and that's about the same what would you pay in the US.
I'm always comparing parts prices to the US and there were maybe few instances where OE parts were cheaper here by a small margin.

Most of the OEM parts are actually cheaper in the US. An example that comes to mind is the flywheel for M5, you can get OEM LUK flywheel from Rockauto for around $370 or eBay for $470. The cheapest price for LUK flywheel that I found in Germany is $655.
You actually save money by buying it across the pond and shipping it to Germany. Same goes for tstats, power steering hoses, etc..

I remember when you suggested me that in my previous project thread and I actually wanted to give it a try now but couldn't find it in Germany.
It used to be available with free shipping on German Amazon and eBay when I looked for it the first time, but now just shipping is like $20 and takes 3-4 weeks to get it delivered so I gave up on it. I'll defently give it a try sooner or later.

303 aerospace protectant is actually pretty good and I think works in a similar way.
I use it on the interior plastic as well. It repels dust and gives a nice fresh look without being too greasy and shiny.

That's surprising... Fuchs, it's parent company, is German... It's for motorcycles... maybe a motorcycle dealer would have it?

Could be that I didn't dig deep enough, I looked at the usual places like eBay & Amazon. Didn't look at the specialist shops, I'm still wrestling with my Deutsch. Google translator is my best friend right now.

The weekend before this one it was off with the dreadful winter tires and got summer shoes on - Dunlop Sport Maxx RT 2 which I bought before winter started and got a pretty good deal on them.

I had them on my old M5 and I was very happy with them. They are Y rated which means I can test the top speed limits of the M5.

There was no unusual wear on the winter tires but got 3D wheel alignment anyways and the M is all set for the summer.

This weekend we had a lovely outing to France visiting the city of Strasbourg and the medieval town of Colmar.

Strasbourg is around 2 and a half hours away from Frankfurt and I took a bit longer but more scenic route.

French roads are outstandingly smooth with barely any traffic. Recipe for a true automotive perfection in the M5.

French, of course, have a speed limit on the highway which meant I was able to get a bit normal fuel figures for the first time in a while.
Around 20 mpg while cruising at 80 mph, albeit nothing to shout about but given that I always drive flat out on the Autobahn this was a nice improvement.

I thought I'd share few pictures from sightseeing gorgeous Strasbourg where we spent the night. The weather was perfect both days.

    Lots of cheese.

Strasbourg Cathedral built from 1015 to 1439.

And now Colmar, one of the most exquisite towns I visited.

Obligatory pics of the M soaking up the sunlight.

My girlfriend says hello. She flipped me off for taking so many pictures of the car.

All in all, great road trip for the books in the M5.

Beautiful photos. I would definitely enjoy getting lost in a small village like that. Thanks for sharing!

This is awesome. The wife and I will be over that way in early June for a wedding and this makes me want to add a night or two in Strasbourg between Paris and Stuttgart.

Shit look straight outta Beauty and the Beast.

Europe is so pretty, but it's nothing compare to your M5.
Can't wait to to hear an update about high speed testing.
I should be in Germany in the end of May. I've read somewhere that A5 near Karlsruhe is a great place to go fast.
I'll send you PM and maybe you can recommend some good roads.
