    Thank you, fellas!

Girlfriend surprised me for my birthday with a 3-day trip to Austria. She didn't tell me where we were going until we were in the car and I was thrilled to learn it was Austria.

Just a quick write up. With roadworks and butt load of stupid caravans along the way, it was a 6 hour drive. Totally worth it though as you are greeted with stunning scenery upon entering Austria.

Fueling up with a beautiful backdrop.

Roads are so much smoother than in Germany.

Can't ask for a better rest stop.

Destination reached - Fernsteinsee lake in Tyrol.

    Wonderful castle/hotel.

    Breathtaking nature.

All you can eat Austrian grill.

Too bad we had to head back.

Whether it's high-speed Autobahn driving or twisty mountain passes in Austria, I love doing long road trips with the M5. It just feels like I'm home every time I'm behind the wheel.
I've been getting lots of thumbs up lately from other drivers which is always nice to see.

Amazing scenery! The e39 m5 seems like the perfect grand tourer for such a trip.

Fine taste you have! Our first time in Tyrol and it is a very, very pretty area. We said we'd definitely come back.

Thanks, Will! My girlfriend always complains how much money we spend on gas but I can tell she loves it as well. Not many cars where you can be sound asleep while traveling 140 mph.

Did you also buy that sweet Ericsson phone so you can drive it from the backseat?

Mannn, that reminds me. Watch from 16:36 to see the real James Bond car in action. Actually, watch the whole thing since it's simply jaw-dropping when you see which cars BMW group classic owns. It's with English subs.

In other news, I was thinking to try and create like a mini-video restoration series for this car, just not sure if anyone would want to watch me trip over and mumble around.
