I am selling my Imola Red/Alcantara 2005 330i ZHP, 6-Spd, 58.5k miles. I purchased this car in June from the original, 70 year old, retired chemist owner. He was meticulous on the upkeep of the car, had it dealer serviced its entire life, and it was garage kept. That said, it’s not free of blemishes, although in excellent mechanical condition. The wheels show curb rash, the front bumper has touch ups, the rear bumper has some spider cracking from a parking lot incident (noted in Carfax), and there are a few dings around the car. The overall appearance is very good, the paint retains its luster, and it is a rust free example with the exception of a small area of surface rust on the arch of the driver side quarter panel. I just had the rust repaired and the quarter panel and rear door blended. There was an accident in 2006 in which the car was parked in the street during an ice storm and another driver drove into the rear driver side wheel. I have a photograph of the damage and receipt documenting the repair at a BMW dealership. The quarter panel had a scratch that required repainting which is why I believe it was the only area on the car that developed a rust spot that I just had repaired.
Mechanically, the car is perfect. It starts, runs, drives, shifts perfectly. As soon as I bought the car, I bought brand new Michelin PSS tires and had the car serviced by Mike O’ Neil at Northeast Motorsport in Mahwah NJ. I had all fluids replaced, a new fuel filter, cabin filter, and alignment performed. I asked about the cooling system and Mike recommended I replace the expansion tank and coolant hoses at my next oil change interval. He feels that the water pump, pulleys, and radiator should be done at 90k and noted that the drive belts were recently replaced and the pulleys made no noise indicative of needing replacement in the near future. He noted that this was a very nice example.
The interior is in very good condition with minimal wear. I would rate the overall condition of the car as very good.
