    Stitching Unraveling

The stitching is unraveling on the front passengers shoulder bolsters. Seats are so barely used. Car is either in garage or under car cover with LoSoCal mid-coastal weather. Unlike the heat of Inland Empire or the dry high desert. The seats were waxed with Leatherique just last summer. One thing I know though, no matter how much leather is waxed, they do not maintain the stitching.

Anybody experienced stitching unraveling? Any suggestions on the stitching as ide from placing a car seat cover......

Last year, I checked a local ZHP for an interested buyer. The owner had the same issue, and he got it repaired using a mobile upholstery guy. I didn't like the results. My only suggestion is to avoid a mobile service and check with a reputable upholstery shop. GL.

I found a couple of pics of the mobile repair. This was on the driver's seat.

Same here, but I used this method to fix it myself. I used Gutermann black upholstery thread.

Well heck. Evidently this is a recurring problem especially in the shoulder bolster area. I think I know an upholstery shop that does re-upholstery for E30 M3 seats close by.

Now the passengers side has split open, I would now keep an eye on the drivers side.

    Thanks to all.

Awesome resource. So simple but never would have thought of it.
