Feedback Requested: Possible New E46 Project

Im keeping an eye on this E46 on Copart. It is located in Pheonix and im in LA, as bidding on CA cars requires a business license and AZ cars dont. 97k miles. Clean title. No VIN problems. Leased new. Whole life in AZ. Reported reason for sell as "Mechanical". Im thinking this could just be due to the missing parts, which are pretty minor and could all be found at my local junkyard on the cheap. What do you guys think? Whats your guess on the reason this engine is apart? My worst case senario thought is that the DISA fell apart, grenading the motor. The parts were removed to begin an engine or head swap and was then bailed on. Thats my theory on worst possible. What do you all think? Id max out my bidding at 800$.

Well for $800 even if it does need a new motor, you'd easily make back the $800+ in parts sales.

It's not the car you drive, it's how you drive it.

Not bad if you can grab it for 800 dlls. What about shipping costs ? Sounds like you already ran a carfax on it.

Already bought a carfax. Most recent is a windshield replaced last year, as well as a power steering pump a few years ago. As for shipping, Ill be going out and trailering the car back. Ive done the LA->PXH drive several times

If you’re parting it out, there’s already things I’m looking at. If a project, looks nice. At 800, I don’t think there’s a mechanical roadblock devastating enough to stop you from making money
