    Extreme vibration while braking

As the title says. Whenever I brake and I apply light-medium force I get an intense vibration in the steering wheel.
If I brake hard, the vibration goes away. I also get this vibration (albeit much less intense) while driving above 40mph and I turn the wheel slightly left or right.

    Any ideas?

My first thought after brake rotors. I installed Meyele's that I think have gone bad. Will replace them with Lemförders tomorrow. If not that then Rotors.

I am putting my money on rotors. Mine are starting to develop a lip and it is getting annoying when braking at higher speeds > 50 MPH. At lower speeds like int he city, it is much less noticeable.

I have the exact same problem n my xi's--big lip on one with worst vibration, developing lip on the one with moderate vibration. Everything else seems tight. I'm planning to grind the lip off and see how that works.

Don't think the lip is the reason for vibration, warped rotor is more likely the culprit. But I could be wrong

You might be right,,, I'm shooting in the dark here, but I figure, "What've I got to lose?" Those lips bug the shit out of me anyhow.

But lips are also a sign of wear, I take that to indicate (in my case) that I need to change my rotors. I think they have become warped, I drove nearly 45K on them in the past 7 years and its time for a refresh.

We need to find the thread were we have previously discussed the maximum wear on the rotor. Sort of the minimum thickness the rotor should be. Need a caliper to measure the thickness of the rotor.

The minimum thickness should be stamped on the hub of the rotor
