The only reason it sold for so much is probably because of that bidding war. When was the last time you walked away from an auction you really wanted to win if it started exceed your ideal budget? "Just a little bit more" --- lol

If it was listed at that price as a Buy It Now, it probably wouldn't have gone for that price. The cars listed at that price tend to stick around a while before the price eventually gets lowered.

    The buyer posted this:

Well, I went a bit past where I planned, but the car is local to me and I don’t have to mess around with flying and shipping and all that.
Figured if s/he bought it for less then they would have ended up at that price anyway with shipping. But the car's price itself would've been lower.

It's not the car you drive, it's how you drive it.

Nothing wrong with paying a little more for convenience.

Especially if it's cheaper to do so... when you factor in shipping, that throws a wrench into things.

Personally I'd just fly out and drive it back. lol

The wife liked our trip to NC to pick up our zhp so much that she wants to do it again. A jeep dealership in VA does a great group buy discount (something like 5% below invoice) that we’ll probably do that at the time.

Totally. I had to drive about 3 hours to philly. Not horrible by any means. I told myself I’d be ok traveling the northeast for a car.

Originally I wanted Webster’s OG from Texas, but the guy didn’t want to budge on the price and when I had to factor in shipping it would have blown my budget.

I could have driven it back but given all the trouble he had with it, I might not have made it back lol.

I flew to Denver for mine with 2 friends. Great road trip back to Boston.
