WTS or WTT BMW Perf Intake for Gruppe M (please read)

I recently picked up a Performance Intake and tried it out for week. As assumed it doesn’t lead to any increase in performance but I did see that there was an increase in the engine note upwards of about 4K rpm. However I’d like to try out the Gruppe M and see how that fairs with the M54 so I’m looking for someone to trade with.

Here’s the thing. When I took it out of the box I was so excited and then really confused. The previous owner did not disclose to me that the guy who had it before him attempted to run a tube from the drivers side of the lower part of the intake down to fog light, a la the dinan intake. It doesn’t interfere with the function of the intake, and I don’t know if it helps or hurts the sound. I wanted to try and patch it up but I just don’t have the time. If I can’t find a Gruppe M in a couple of weeks I’d be looking to sell it for the $500 it cost me. Just want to get my money back.

Whoever sold that piece to you without disclosing the hole at the bottom is dishonest.

    ^Yep.

You should talk to the person you bought it from and if that doesn’t work you should open a case if you paid through PayPal...

Not only did they cut a hole in the side but they did an absolute hack job!

You can easily patch that with a sheet of black 1/8” abs plastic. Cut the size you need to cover that area, use a hair dryer to bend it if needed, the use some 5 min epoxy to glue it into place.

I should have chosen my words a little better. TBH it's on me. I misunderstood what he was telling me. In PM's he made it sound like he was talking about the hole that leads to the MAF sensor. I was the one who was mistaken.

Ordered. Should be getting it tomorrow. I have a circular saw drill bit and i'll clean that up. If anyone might be interested in the finished product let me know.
