New Member - 03 ZHP 330i

Hi all!

I recently picked up an 03 ZHP with 77k. I’m excited to learn from and contribute to this great community of ZHP owners! This will be a garaged weekend car with low mileage. I plan on keeping the car completely stock and replace with only OEM/OE parts (with a Coby rewrap) so my maintenance log will be super boring.


Here are some pics (if links don’t work I will fix later tonight):




Major maintenance that I’m aware from previous owner service records:
VCG: 63k miles 4/2013
Coolant expansion tank only: 72k miles 12/2014
Thermostat and Water Pump: 72k miles 12/2014
Evap vent valve and gas cap: 76k miles 8/2018

Maintenance I did since purchasing car:
4 new tires
Oil change
Cabin and air filter
All 4 rotors/pads/sensors
All 6 coils and spark plugs
DISA upgrade with G.A.S. Kit (preventative - no issues when I inspected)
Replaced upper/lower intake boot and cleaned ICV (preventative - no issues when I inspected)

Maintenance on my to do list:
VANOS seals
Pulleys and belts
Entire cooling system eventually??? (Hoses are less prone to failure so not sure if I should do this)
FCA / Bushings
Fluid flushes
Burnt headlight housing
Not sure if this is an issue but the headlight icon on the dash when I turn lights on is gone after my Indy reset everything (unless I am crazy and there isn’t a headlight icon. I could have sworn it existed previously).

Would love everyone’s feedback on what else I should do or look into. This is my first e46 ZHP!

Nice pickup! We've mostly all gone overboard and modded the piss out of our cars, so it's nice to see a true OE ZHP come through. I like your plan for keeping it virgin.

On your notes:

- Might as well do the hoses with the rest of the cooling system. They're cheap and you'll already have them out of the car so...why not? FCP has some good refresh kit options as well.

- There is no headlight icon for when the headlights are on. You either drove around with your brights on all the time (blue light) or the car was programmed to turn on the fog lights with the headlights (green light). Let's hope it was the latter!

True. Not a priority for me now since prior owner replaced the expansion tank recently and haven’t driven much since. When I do expansion again, I’m going to buy one of the kits and do a complete overhaul.
Maybe I had the fogs on then. I thought I remember seeing a green icon when I picked the car up.
