Congrats on the outstanding result at BaT!
I was amused by the comment by Eric from EAG about it bringing such a high hammer price despite not being a competition package car. Ha! I can totally see why, and besides, the comp package isn't for everybody - if I were in the market I would be looking to avoid it, personally.

Thank you!
Funny he would said that, because they were asking $2k more than I was originally for a silver grey car with grey interior (typically the resale interior color on the E46 m3) that had 20k more miles than my car. Not to mention cosmetically it was no where near as clean and maintenance was not as up to date, I guess it's only acceptable if it's the EAG tax.
With that said, he was also wrong about the price as a 2005 Comp Package M3 with identical mileage and swirled to hell paint sold for $2300 more than my car just weeks prior:

Pretty clearly, Eric was commenting from a "private buyer" perspective. Having done business with him and seen his facility, I have nothing but respect for him. Very polarizing guy, but those who have done business there almost universally have positive things to say about the whole experience. Me included.
Before buying the Z4MC that I recently bought for $34.5k from a private party (34k miles, immaculate condition, full history back to 1200-mile service, 99% stock other than CDV, lighted ZHP shift knob, LeatherZ boot, motor mounts), I was looking at an EAG car - a 44k mile '07 that had multiple repainted panels, a beat-to-hell windshield, and a front bumper that needed refinishing - asking $39.9k. In its defense, the interior was perfect, the maintenance beyond up-to-date, wheels freshly refinished, new Pilot Super Sports all around, etc. But man, that was just not a $40k car in my eyes, even with the "EAG tax".
$37k is a VERY strong price for your car, but I think it totally deserved it, and that the new owner will have zero regrets. Hell, I might have been a bidder had I not already located the Z4MC a few weeks earlier.
