    Shifter Rebuild Questions

    Hello Mafia!

Finally got my first few paychecks in the bank and now its time to spend some of that hard earned $$$ on car parts. I plan on rebuilding my shifter and doing trans mounts at the same time, hopefully this weekend or the next.

I was wondeirng if anyone had experience rebuilding their shifter, and what products they used. I was looking at this kit since it includes many parts, but didn't know if it was meant for the shifter in the ZHP or not?

If anyone has any experience or comments please chime in. My build thread has been quiet lately and I would like to have some good updates for it soon.

    Thanks!

Hmm, I'll post again soon. It was the complete rebuilt kit from Turner with around 10 or so new pieces. Wondering if I need the whole rebuild kit for ~$125 or if I can just buy a few key components.

Ecs has a very similar kit at the same exact price as well.

Well you could reuse a lot of stuff. but I don't think it saves you that much. Like you could reuse your 2 bearing pins, the circlip, and the dowel. what is that like $20? lol I don't think you need to replace the shift rod joint either. I'm pretty sure most of the cost of that kit is the bushing itself.

I replaced my shift with a custom AS kit. It came with everything there included. The joint was like the hardest thing to do, due to the space.

I just got that ECS kit in the mail. Have not yet installed it.

Also doing trans mounts and guido and center bearing while I’m there.

Figured I only wanted to do this once. Per car lol

Where you able to complete the task with the transmission in place? Or lowered? I am going to have to do this in a parking lot most likely.

OOOOOO let me know how it all goes. I just bought M3 trans mounts, and def need a guibo, so I was thinking of a very similar maintenance procedure for this weekend or the next.

Keep in touch on this, take some photos too :D
