Adjusting wiper arm range of motion

I took my wiper arms of recently to clean out the windshield cowl area and put them back on. Now when it's raining my wiper arms seem to stop about 2 inches earlier than they should in their range of motion. i.e. the driver's side wiper doesn't quite get to vertical. Anyone have experience adjusting this?

    Thanks

Perhaps you put them back on lower/closer to cowl than they should be, therefore not allowing them to wipe far/high enough.

I just replaced my cowl but marked the wiper blade position on the windshield with tape before I removed them

    The more scientific approach:

    From E46 Bentley section 611:

    Wiper blade park position
Front wiper blade tip distance from windshield gasket:

Right blade 24 mm (1 in.)
Left blade 44 mm (1.7 in.)

Rear wiper blade tip distance from rear window gasket:

    12 mm (1/2 in.)

Maybe I should go check mine

That did it! Was worried it would be much more involved with the wiper motor and electronics. Thanks
