The Rescue: A Basketcase Touring Story

“RMS Titanic” does not look half bad when you look at it but then that undercarriage does need some work...

I find it strange seeing two tourings at Botond’s place and we’re about to get another today. Since Botond was gracious enough to give me a hand driving my Audi Avant from California to Rhode Island, I figured I would return the favor and help him bring this Orient Blue/Natural Brown touring back to his place today

Great pictures. This green color looks good.
I need to meet with you guys at some point and do like small ZHP Mafia cars&coffee.
My summer was ridiculously busy. I spent zero time working on my cars and had zero free weekends.
I need to see your Audi and Botond's wagons.

Car looks greatd, but seeing that Ludlow VT decal....... that alone would indicate that the underside of the car needs a peek.....

I'd ask Reasoned1 for his two cents here, but that's pretty much "normal" condition in our neck of the woods for a 16 year old 4 season car. My brother-in-law had a shop in Westfield VT for years and I've seen hundreds of cars on his lift that were far worse - and they were all still on the road

Why does it look like it was parked on the beach? Exterior looks pretty good compared to what's underneath.

As soon as it started, it was over. Less than a month later, I'm scavenging parts from this one to feed the new touring. The rust was too much for me to mentally process, and while transferring certain parts today, I'm glad I made the decision to call it quits. New thread forthcoming...

But for now, if anyone wants this car, please send me a message. I will let it go VERY cheap! It will be sold complete with no missing parts, though they may not be the same parts the car came with.
