    New Roundel - And How ZHP Got It's Name

    The September Roundel is out, and on page 114 there's and article called "2004 ZHP"

    https://view.imirus.com/290/document/13205/page/116

    At the end of the article, they explain BMW's thought process for the the ZHP name:

    "Well, all the domestics have done so well with Z-codes -- Z28, ZR1, and so on -- let's call it Z High Performance ZHP."

    The link is asking for a roundel ID. Is it possible you post screen shots of it ? TIA.

    The new Roundel app doesn't allow downloads yet (supposedly coming), so here's a screen shot. Hope it's clear enough to read

    I know we've all had different guesses what ZHP was an acronym for. Hopefully this is the answer!

    Didn’t basically every package in that era started with Z and was followed by two other letters? Other examples being:

    ZCW = cold weather package
    ZSP = sports package
    ZCP = competition package

    Yes, and I believe the Premium Package order code was ZPP, so they could not use that code for the Performance Package, hence the need to come up with a different order code.

    From Marcus' (Marcus and Dane formed ZHPmafia) original post: "But Dane, who knows a thing or two about BMWs, thinks it could just as easily be high performance."

    From here.
