I know it's pretty easy to swap output shafts to axles when doing a diff swap, but does anyone know why there are two different types of 6 bolts patterns?

On my 05 ZHP 6spd they are in pairs, 2-2-2

Other 330's, like the auto I plan to get a 3.38 out of, they are evenly spaced around the flange.

Obviously to do the swap I'll have to switch flanges. No big deal, I planned to do output seals while I have it off the car anyway.

Is one axle or bolt pattern better than the other?

Thanks
