So the superpro USA poly subframe bushings are backordered for 6-8 weeks. I am not waiting that long for them and I am not spending $200+ for a set.

I was semi okay spending $150 for a set but at this point i might order the oe rubber ones for $60 and call it a day.

Got the subframe, trailing arms, parking brake assembly and new rotors installed. Went smooth and easy.

Also I rebuilt the drivers side axle with new boots and grease. Simple diy job.

However installing the axles back into the hubs has proven to be a major pita. Only got the passenger side in and that required having to use force from a trusty sledge hammer. The splines lined up and the axle slid in and then it just stopped moving. So hopefully no damage is done with banging on the outer joint of the axle to fully seat it into the hub. And praying the drivers side is a smoother procedure.

Last piece of the puzzle is to replace the csb and the guibo. Once these parts arrive from FCPeuro, the car will be back on it's wheels. Much excitement.

Ah I still have to do this one too. Make sure to preload the csb!

I learned something today: CSB = center support bearing and it should be replaced with the guibo. BTW, the guibo is on my to-do-list.

Got the guibo and the csb replaced. No records on file but both parts had the bmw logo stamped. Could be original or replaced early in the cars life.

But the guibo had stress cracks in the rubber and the csb had a dry bearing inside of the assembly.

Got both items replaced and the driveshaft back in the car.

Next up is to tackle the exhaust studs.

Finished up with the exhaust studs. Drilled them out and replaced with ss bolts and nuts that are flanged. Got the exhaust back on the car and did an eyeball alignment to be able to drive the car to the shop.

Feels good to have the car back on the ground.
