This is the passenger side with the axle seized in the hub. Rusty and crusty. Needs a new dust shield, bearing and hub for sure.

The other side is not as bad and I'm not sure if I want to tackle it at this point. I'll clean it up and install the new parking brake hardware.

These are the rtab and the upper and lower bushings for the control arms. Z4m rtab will be used and the e46 m3 ball joints for both the upper and lower mounting points.

    Happy Sunday y'all

Keep pushing man, it looks like you're almost there. That's some rust on those hubs/e-brakes!

    Thanks for posting updates.

So I got trailing arm in a 40ton hydraulic press. It took 25 tons of pressure to move then axle out of the hub. It even got heated using the acetylene torch.

However due to the massive amount of pressure the caliper tabs on the knuckle got sheared off. So the axle is saved hopefully but now I need a complete trailing arm assembly. Off to a junkyard I go unless I find someone on the forums willing to ship one.

Oh and also the outer axle boot got torn so going to replace both boots now.

This job sucks. All for a $35 wheel bearing.

Like they say when it rains it pours.

Noticed that a coolant leak developed under the intake manifold. Not sure what the deal is but now have to pull the manifold back off to see what is causing it.

And still have to find a used trailing arm/hub assembly at the junkyard.

New record for me to remove the intake manifold is 35 minutes.

Looks like the leak is from the upper hard coolant pipe.

Either the o-ring isn't seated properly or the surface of the coolant block is messed up.

Btw this is the aftermath of the trailing arm/hub assembly with what should have been a simple hub and bearing job.

I didn't even bother trying to get the hub and bearing out since there is no point. The axle will need new boots as well.
