You might try a small section of Strip-Calk to bridge the gap between the trim & door panel. It will fill any void & stick it in place.

Meaning even with new clips, there'll be constant pressure away from the door causing possible detachment again.

Should I risk using a heat gun or some other temperature related technique to fix this, or will the replacement clip be strong enough to overcome this ....

You can try to slightly bend it back. Sometimes the act of removing the trim will bend it.

Basically cold turkey, just force it without any heat, etc? I've had bad experiences doing that with plastic... Softer Metals are bit easier.

Is there actually a reason to use this? Aesthetically won't look horrible because the gap would be basically hidden from passenger view... And it's not like a glue which will help hold the piece closer to the door right?

Just don't want to deal with extra gunk unless it serves a real purpose that I may be neglecting.

It's sticky (yet easy to remove) & will fill a gap - only reason I mentioned it. Can't see the issue you're dealing with from here!

You bet. This other part may come handy, it's for the orange clips: 51-45-8-266-814.

Thanks for going next level with advice LOL... I'll probably pass on that, I have OCD about sticky and greasy stuff unless absolutely needed, but good to know!
