    VIN check

I'm having trouble finding a VIN decoder that gives me enough information to know whether or not a car I'm looking at is a true ZHP.

Has anyone found a decoder that works or they are happy with?

    I appreciate your help. Thanks!

Sweet! That's pretty slick. And it's really detailed.

    Thank you, Fredo!

    I found this thread...
    http://www.zhpmafia.com/forums/showt...W-Option-Codes

In there is a post from nk_zhp where these options are listed:
    226 SPORTS SUSPENSION SETTINGS
    710 M LEATHER STEERING WHEEL
    716 M AERODYNAMICS PACKAGE II
    760 INDIVIDUAL HIGH-GLOSS SATIN CHROME
    767 PERFORMANCE-PACKAGE
772 INTERIOR TRIM ALU BLACK CUBE
    775 INDIVIDUAL ROOF-LINING ANTHRACITE
    787 M LT/ALY WHEELS DOUBLE SP.135 W MIXED T.

With these, the implication is your car is a ZHP. Is this true?

As a side note, now I need to find the history of the car. Next to 'Service History' in the VIN check, in all caps and red type, it says, "!!CHECK HISTORY!!" Good grief. Maybe the seller has a CarFax.

Looks like mdecoder has been replaced with this one:

    https://new.mdecoder.com

You need to register and pay for the reports. One guy in the e90 forum says you can do 5, 10, 20, 40, 100.

    100 cost $25 euros.

interesting....... with both VIN decoders I use not working for the last month, I gave mdecoder.com a try on 8/15 and it worked! Thought we were good to go!

But just read your post and tried it again today...... no bueno. Hard to believe we're going to have to start paying....

This one still works. I tried earlier, you need to enter the whole VIN:

    http://bimmer.work
    2005 IR / black / 6MT
    157,000 miles

Thanks Fredo, just tried it and compared it to the file I created from the same Bimmer.work in 2017. Worked great.... but.....2 things to note...........

using your link, this version today:

    1) says my car is an automatic (wrong!), the 2017 version said "MECH" which I assumed meant 6MT (which it is)
    2) says my interior is Leder Montana/basis-ausst./schwarz - N6SW, the 2017 version said Standardleder/schwarz - N6SW

That's odd. My 2005 ZHP shows with "transmission = manual" which is correct. The upholstery shows like yours.
