So the front bumper needs to be resprayed... Not sure if anyone has gone this route, but I'm going to order the European coupe/cabrio front bumper as a replacement (same bumper, not reflectors on bumper).

    Part # is 51117893057

btw... for comparison--the US bumper is part # 51117893060.... You can see the cut outs for the amber reflectors (which look particularly bad on an imola red car)

Like that. They do hv color matched 'reflectors' that you can use instead if you wanted.

Not a huge fan of those... Did them on a black X5 I owned a few years ago and pulled them off. I dont mind clear reflectors--but no OEM and the aftermarket ones are kinda crappy if you can even find them...

Shop sent me some pictures today... Most of the engine work was done last week.

They dropped the subframe earlier. All parts will either be replaced or reconditioned.

The car will drive this week! Most of the mechanical parts are back in. The POR process of painting the bottom of the car was time consuming, and they worked on it in their spare time. Basically a ton of prep work of cleaning and scrubbing the bottom of the car, then hand applying multiple coats of POR paint.

When the mechanical is done, I'll drive it for a few days, then take it to the body shop to have the rear bumper resprayed, then the Euro front bumper installed (no reflectors!).

After that, it goes to Sound-in-Motion for the stereo system. They'll do a double DIN, reverse camera, and I ordered all new plastic trim pieces for the interior, new arm rest, leather shift boots, etc.

    From last week:
