Anyone with a convertible have a picture of the spare tire setup?

I think I'm missing some things... Here's the realoem.com link:

Does the jack just rest in the tray or does it secure in somehow?

Does anyone have #2 in the picture? Looks to be a BMW Tool Kit Wheel Change Safety Chock Wedge (ENDED) # 71111179052

That wheel chock/wedge has been used by BMW since before the E21. The part # has been superceded & they're aluminum vs. steel & not painted black now. ~$39 new, $10 from eBay sellers.

I think I need to get a replacement spare tire... is this something discount tire carries?

    I didn’t dare fill mine up beyond 20 psi b/c it’s from 2003.

I asked DT around 3 years ago. They said yes and I paid for it (special order, not in stock). Some days later they called and said they could not find such tire and refunded my money.

That's still on my to-do list, I will try again some day.

I just replaced mine. Figured 15 year old rubber probably wouldn't hold up in an emergency:

    Tire Rack has it:

I remember a post from Fredo about not being able to find a spare tire. Good to know there's one out there, probably smart to replace it.

FWIW, the convertible will only fit the donut, but sedans will fit a larger tire/wheel.

In my old ZHP sedan I wanted a larger spare than the donut, so I did this to run a full-size spare:

36116750254 OEM steel wheel (17x7) with a 205/50/17 (stock tire size on XI with 17s)... The XI came with this 17x7 wheel which would also fit nicely in the trunk: https://www.ebay.com/itm/17-BMW-3-SE...QAAOSw54JfUWaG

It's gotta support your car through an emotional time. I'll pay $110 for that.
