Phone/Bluetooth coming through speakers (to select language)

Alright, 100% newbie ZHP owner here, wishing my first post wasn't a 'Why is this broken/how to fix this' , but it is =)

I have had the car for close to a month now, been great. Then the other day i'm driving the car and it starts asking me to select a language very loudly through the speaker system. The radio says 'Phone' while it does this.

I tried pushing the 'phone' or person speaking button on the steering wheel and it didn't stop. I pushed the stereo button on the stereo to get it back to music but it keeps coming back every few minutes.

The Previous owner installed a bluetooth (phone calls only) system he said.....not sure if it's that wigging out. Or if there is some button I pushed accidentally and i'm not doing the magic combination to turn it off.....

Hoping to get some pointers here.

Bryan, if you can reach out to the previous owner perhaps he can shed some light on this aftermarket bluetooth device he installed for phone calls... either that or remove the device and get yourself BlueBus with the TCU adapter cable and your problems will be fixed while adding bluetooth streaming from your phone to your stereo

I'd recommend just swapping out the unit for a BlueBus (link). The developer, Ted, is a e46 owner. Wonderful device, great sound quality, and with the latest firmware "it just works."
