    Windshield Install Instructions

Does anyone have a PDF of the BMW windshield install instructions? I googled and searched this forum. There's one thread from years ago, but the link is dead. I can PM my email address if that is easier.

Also, I read on E46fanatics that there is a Pilkington and Pilkington OE glass. How is there two versions of glass from the OE company and how do you request the OE one...is there a different part number?

The dealer replaced my windshield one year ago. The price OTD was around $695. This is the part # they installed:

I was quoted on windshield replacement for my sedan with the same part #.

can sometimes be fun to join in peoples searches

Does post #12 below give you any info? Looks like it may have been copied from a BMW manual.....

    https://www.e46fanatics.com/threads/...nt-diy.678676/

And there's at least one thread who said his local dealer printed out a copy of the instructions for him.... just a thought

I just found that same E46fanatics thread - hope that helps.
Stu on this forum posted the pdf a decade ago - maybe he still has it, if he's around.

I'd suggest you look into the "Climate Comfort" version if it's available. Cuts down on glare and greenhouse temp effects.

I found three procedures in ISTA+. I used my touring's VIN for the search, but all E46 should be the same general procedure.
All of these involved some sort of a "special tool" but ... let's be honest, nobody really uses them. You can find equivalent hardware to do the job.

I've attached the three PDF extracts from ISTA+.

Thank you so much...that is exactly what I was looking for. The procedure is fortunately way simpler than the BMW instructions for my E38. I'll get the spacers from FCP
