Bigger tires on style 135 ?

I have the stock ZHP wheel/tire combo. I notice every time I drive by a speed sensor it's says I'm going 3 mph slower than my speedo indicates. I had this same situation with my truck and ended up going up a size when I purchased new tires. That worked out perfectly.

Has anybody ever went up a tire size on their style 135s ? I was thinking of going from:

    Front 225/40/18, Rear 255/35/18

    to

    Front 225/45/18, Rear 255/40/18

According to the online tire calculator, that change would net a 2.7 mph increase which would make the speedo almost exactly correct and maybe provide a little smoother ride.

Has anybody ever tried it? Does that tire combo fit or will it rub?

It's not the car you drive, it's how you drive it.

No, that’s not what you want. Do this instead. My speedometer is perfect.

    Front: 245/40-18
    Rear: 265/35-18

Running Michelin PS4 265 in the back and lowered on stock springs and Koni yellows scraped paint on non-rolled rear archers as well as tires have visible marks touching the arches especially if you plan to carry anyone in the back... keep an eye on it.

Depends on tire brand but it looks like P.O. was also trying some aggressive tires (Conti ExtremeContact DW 265/35/R18) and it scraped not only the outside of the arches but also on the inside... luckily where it scraped there was no rust forming due to constant touching... had to clean/prime/sealant/etc. looks terrible but no one can see it, and if it keeps rust at bay I will be ok with it.

Wide tires look great, but also need upgrades to suspension/drivetrain (rear adjustable sway bar, maybe an LSD, etc.) to dial it in... something to keep in mind.

Isn't 265 a bit too big for an 8.5" wide wheel?

It's outside of the maximum tire width on the chart floating on the internet.

My sons 265 sit on a replica style 359 18x9.5 in the back. For stock size they will be a stretch imho and on my ZHP I have a square setup 255’s sitting on a 2 pairs of rears
