    Shopping for new Shocks

So hit a pothole and rear right shocks are shot, bounces up and down, had a couple of mechs look at it. One of them wanted $230 just to replace the one rear right shock for parts + labor... the other one is charging $150 to install both rear shocks, for labor only.

Looking at this to get and have the second guy put it in:

    https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...t3#description

I know FCP is popular with ya'll, so I cant go wrong with this? Seems like it even includes the mounts...

    So my question would be

    • Is there anything in this kit that is missing that I should also get before I get it done
    • Is there any other model shock kit in the similar price range that will give a noticeable performance increase... I like to drive corners hard, one of my joys of driving this car

My suspension was refreshed recently. Here’s what was installed front and rear:

I don’t see these 2 rear parts in the FCP kit:

    33531136385 (2) Spring pad, R upper
    33531094518 (2) Spring pad, R lower

Yes I read that, so the part I listed is good to buy and install?

So should I just get the one I listed and get these 2 extra parts, are they critical or...

Or do you have a place/link where they sell the kit with ALL these parts in one?

In the guide I recommend the E36 M3 shocks + bump stops (linked in the table) and the Repair Shop mounts (also linked). All the other hardware for the rear shocks stays the same (spring pads etc.).

Thanks, I am sure that is great info, just dont have time right now to become a shock expert with those tons of options, dont wanna risk missing some small part or something else... just wanted to validate the parts I saw on FCP, order, and get them in unless there is something much better in performance for the same money. I appreciate the time you put in for that guide tho, but for me its a bit confusing right now, way too many variables.

    Perfect!
Ok, may be stupid questions but:

    https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...t3#description
This is for both rears or do I need to order 2 of these for each side for a total of $440? Seems like they come with 2 of each which I might think means for both rears in one package, but obviously I dont want to assume this.

    And I got your parts,
    https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...mw-33531136385
    https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...mw-33531094518
Do I also order 2 of each, so 4 extra parts total here?

You can substitute only one part if you want (only E36 M3 shocks). They offer more performance for the same money. Honestly not sure what's so complicated about that.

You need to order (1) kit for $217.80. Plus (4) parts total for the two I mentioned (2 of each).
