And that's why I despise that site with a passion. If I had a dollar for every time I rolled my eyes at the mention of that place I'd be a trillionaire.

It's not the car you drive, it's how you drive it.

It’s become more of a place for wealthy people for sure than for budget project cars, but I wouldn’t say it’s not an enthusiast site.
BAT definitely pushed up the prices of a lot of cars (some that I want to buy but are beyond what I’m willing to pay now unfortunately), including our ZHPs, but you get to see some really cool cars that would otherwise end up at fancy physical auctions with no visibility to folks like us.

Sold for $28k. Seller made a profit, he paid $21.5k to BaT ($20.5k sales price + 5% fee) back in July 2021.

The sad fact is the cost of everything has skyrocketed. Dealers are taking people for a ride and clean used cars (especially enthusiast cars) are going for extreme premiums. Hopefully it doesnt last but I dont foresee prices getting lower. We are in the last days of gas powered vehicles. With California regulating that in 2035 you cant sell gas vehicles its the unfortunate truth.

He only paid $21.5k after fees, but factor in shipping (if it was shipped), registration, and any maintenance items he replaced.
I’m sure he is also paying the listing dealer 10% or so, so profit was minimal.
