Tough to make money, it sold for $13K right, so $13,650 with buyers fee.
If they are a private party 7% sales tax, so $910 on the $13K plus registration. So you're at $14.5K-$15.0K. Put in $3K of work, you're at $17.5K-$18.0K.
Is it worth it for a possible $2,000-$2,500 profit? Maybe.

If it’s a pure flip they may not even register it and save the taxes. Not sure it needs $3K in parts but don’t remember if there was anything major wrong. As I remember it was mainly small things, but could be wrong.

Not sure how much a manual conversion costs but that could potentially unlock a lot of value on it.

A manual with that low mileage can probably get mid 20s.

I am with you, manual swapped is $25K or so.
Only thing is, sourcing a lower mileage unit (sub 150K) is proving hard.
I got mid 20s for my low mileage manual sedan, and a 330xi in the trade.
The 330xi ended up needing a bunch of work, so fixing it all before selling.

The only thing with a swap, is the drivetrain is going to almost always have more than double the miles of the rest of the car.
The trans are pretty stout on these cars, but won't have 40K, that's for sure.
