    Damage to shocks/struts etc....

    So... something stupid happened...
Really dark road, also rain all over my windows and road, my vision has been declining in the last year especially at night and my headlights are also really starting to suck... making a turn and ran over a low curb like an idiot... harsh hit on my front left, the car body went up at least couple of inches so it def bottomed out.

On the rest of the drive home, I ran over some small potholes and reflectors and tested the steering... I could not find any ill effects in any way anywhere.

What other test can I do to see if there were any real damage, or do I have to bring to the shop and have them thoroughly inspect it? Then I might as well go to Firestone and get another free alignment and have them check at the same time no charge.

I ran over a tire once that destroyed my bumper and at least felt like the car went into the air, even if it didn't actually.

If you are a discerning driver you can tell immediately if something is off. If you think you wouldn't be able to tell generally speaking, I'd just have a local inspector or Indy do a suspension check (loose joints etc.) Only takes about 5 minutes.

I'd be more worried about bent wheels.

I'll inspect the wheel more carefully, they probably the most expensive part of my car right now

But anyways ya I'm pretty particular with the way my car feels, every little difference annoys me so, i was little surprised everything was so smooth, maybe just extremely lucky or maybe a small nick that might expand to bigger one ... I'll take it in and have them look anyways... Thanks

I guess I should have added that my car was fine as well after that massive hit, so it shouldn't be surprising if yours is OK too. Suspension can take quite a beating.

Does it pass the bounce test? You won't be able to see a strut leaking, but can see a leaky shock.

Ugh... Took look in the sun and damage FML
Tire looks like it could blow, might have to change that out minimum, f$#$ got these not too long ago as well, i hate replacing one

The rim, no idea what to say... I mean it's the structure compromised, is it just a scratch i don't have to worry about, how do you make that decision when it's not obvious

    tire

Wheel might be able to be repaired - talk to a shop that does repairs to make sure the tire bead will seal.

Do you have road hazard warranty on the tires?

    I don't think there's insurance on it....

Just sitting here getting new tires, FML, i don't like driving with anything wrong and sidewall issues cannot be fixed so, couldn't find any local used tires, wasn't going to waste time shopping around so $150 for some off brand until i replace all 4 maybe next year, tires are more than halfway worn and into the getting into the yellow zone now.

He said the rim should be fine.

One less thing... Now the cabin filter...

    Never ends....
