To me it looks like the trunk itself is fine, but the tail light on the passenger side isn't aligned and too close

Right, maybe I didn’t describe it correctly. Something is definitely misaligned on that side. The tail light is either in or isn’t. If it is sitting in correctly, something is tweaked.
