    For Sale: Droid X $125

I have for sale a Droid X. I bought it off of someone on Craigslist and then found out that it couldn't be activated. I pretty much got shafted, and Verizon will not tell me why it can't be activated. Long story short, I need to offload this because I'm in a horrible financial situation right now.

The device is in excellent condition and functions in every respect, with the exception of not being able to be activated on Verizon's network. It is my understanding that it can be activated on another CDMA-based network, but don't quote me on that.

It can be used for wifi internet browsing, a camera (8-megapixel camera), video recorder (records 720p HD video), video game platform, or as a music player. It will come with a 16GB mini-SD card preinstalled. Will also include micro-USB wall charger and battery (with cover). Asking $150 shipped OBO. Compare price to an iPod touch 8GB which does pretty much all the same stuff but costs $229 and has half the capacity at that price.

Please make me an offer; this needs to go, and I'd love for it to be gone by this week's end...

(lease let me know if this is inappropriate to post here and I will take it down)

    2011/04/27 - Price drop to $125 OBO.

I know it's a possibility and personally at this point don't care. I lost so much money on switching to a Droid X it's not even funny (first with this debacle) and then finally having to break down and renew my contract to get one through Verizon, which I didn't want to do. Either way, this is more use to someone who could use its other features than in the trash (that would be "polluting" anyway), so I thought this would be the more appropriate thing to do.

That's strange that Verizon won't give you the status on this. I'd give them a call again. Maybe you'll find someone who will give you the 411, BP.

This isn't the case. It's against Verizon policy to tell someone why an ESN can't be activated. Whatever the exact reason is, Verizon will never tell me.

Wow. Did not realize that, BP.

So it sounds as though no one will be able to activate this?

Not on Verizon, though there have been reports of people rooting the phone and flashing it for Metro PCS to be used on their service. I don't know how all that works. But, if anything...
