No real good pic today either (Santa Rosa, NM) but wanted to post a couple observations:

    1) My engine, which currently sits at 353,000 km has not burned a single drop of oil since I left. And I've been on the throttle quite a bit, the OBC says I'm averaging 17 mpg. Very, very surprising - which is why I love using Rotella

    2) The cooling system seems to be adapting to the high oil temps. Usually coolant temp hovers around 95C and oil around 120-123C. But just today I've seen coolant temps go down to 80C regularly, with oil temps down to 115-119C. I guess the DME sees that higher oil temp and commands the thermostat to open more?

Made it to Las Vegas, the scenery was much better.

I think one of my fillups had some bad gas. Have some sputtering just off idle when load is applied, so when taking off from a stop. Highspeed driving is fine though - I've had to do minutes at a time of WOT to maintain speed up the hills and it was fine. Hopefully it clears up by tomorrow

So pretty!! A friend said that if you’re near Groom Lake on the straight highway you just gun it and a USAF jet may come say hi if you’re going fast enough. I tried with my ZHP holding 147mph GPS speed but no UFOs came along side for rolling shots dammit. I did shave a few minutes off my trip though. LOL

Yeah, what I didn't mention was the small "cliff" of like 30-40 mm dropoff from the pavement to the shoulder. Which I didn't realize until it was too late, so I did scrape a bit. Had I known that I wouldn't have pulled off, but what's done is done.

Also holy shit lol. Such a big contrast to me - there are a lot of hills heading into Vegas from Arizona. At its worst I was flooring it in 4th and still slowing down at 100 km/h. Car is a beast, it just took it like a champ

    Thanks Will!

Of course, being from Ontario, CA I couldn't not stop in Ontario, CA:

Tomorrow is the home stretch to the SF Bay Area and will thus mark the end of my trip.

Found some Style 68s on FB Marketplace with almost zero curb rash. Caveat: It only has 1x8.5 wide wheel in the set.
    No matter. Future winter wheels.
