usually what i find, when that happens, is they will park about 3" from you. on the driver's side.

I’m not sure if we’re biased, or what, but I completely agree. I wonder if I can fit that twin turbo V12 under the hood of an E46...(maniacal plotting intensifies)

    oh, ya... we're biased.

if i ever did a non-BMW engine swap, it would be an LSx. i know they're widely used, but they make so much sense. and after having experienced an LS2-powered E46 for myself....

Everything about an LS swap makes sense. Easy to work on, small, doesn’t ruin the 50/50 distribution, cheap power. Oh and they sound freaking awesome.

It's not cheap at all when you consider the crazy retrofit pricing. It's a lot of custom fabrication from what I remember reading, and if you can't do it yourself, you may need to take a second mortgage.

nah, it's not that much fabrication - front subframe needs to be custom, but that's not a huge deal. i could design one. and the trans crossmember would need to be custom - but again, this is not anything crazy. custom driveshaft - i'd have to farm that out. and the tuning - that would be standalone engine management, for which nowadays i think is not that difficult.

an S54 swap would be way easier though. (a route i may go at some point.)
