    M-Sport Shift Knob Retrofit

I'm thinking of replacing my shift knob with the M-Sport knob from either a 1 series or a 3 series (they are the same knob), but have concerns about fitment.

    Mainly my concerns are:
    1) Does the knob attach the same way as the ZHP knob (just push onto the lever)
    2) Is the notch on the shift lever the same as every other BMW, so that the shift knob will orient properly
    3) Is it a simple matter of breaking off the tabs on the bottom of the knob (these tabs are used to attach to the shift boot) to use in an E46

Does anybody have an E9x or a 1er that can confirm this? The knobs should all attach the same way, so I think that if you have a 3er or a 1er it would all be the same. Could I ask a favor of someone with one of these models to pull off their knob and take some pics of the bottom of the knob and the top of the shift lever?

For reference, the knob I'd like to install is this:

I have that knob. I will take pictures for you. It's from my 335. It's not on my ZHP.

And, yes, it pulls straight off. It's a nice one-piece shift knob (boot and shift knob together).

I cannot take a picture of the shift lever (car gone). I can take a picture of the shift knob unit.

I'm pretty sure this will fit, but someone else who has actually tried it will chime in..

Would you be willing to unload that knob to me? (Please, no references here lol)

I paid $140 for it. I'll give it to you for $85. Looks brand new. I also have the matching ebrake handle for it. Not sure if it will fit on your car, but it's yours for $15.

    Marcus,
Would you accept a return if it ended up not fitting?

So long as there is no damage, scrape marks, etc., and you pay shipping, I'm fine with that.

Shipping should be about $5 each way.
