Just picked up a ZHP last week and when viewing the car I noticed the buyer had recently (last 2000 miles) put new tires (Federal SS-595) that were 225/40/18 on all 4 rims. The car has the stock staggered 135s and when looking at the front vs rear you can tell that the rears are slightly undersized for a 18x8.5 rim.
My first question is if this is something to be worried about? Should I stick with the recommended 38psi for the rear listed on the door jam for undersized tires?
Another thing I have been considering when the tires wear out is going with a 17x9, D-Force LTW5 maybe, squared setup for the following reasons (most important to least important): lighter rim/tire, lets me rotate the tires for more even wear, 17" tires are cheaper than 18" tires.
I do love the look of the style 135 rims, but I always hear people talking about square setup for handling and a 17" rim just makes more sense, right? Or would 245s squared on the stock rims be just as effective?
