    Weird tape over headlamp

I was detailing my car this weekend and that's when you notice all the stuff you didnt see before. I noticed some tape on my headlamp was peeling. Is this oe or did the po possibly cover them with something so keep them from being pitted??

It may be something to reduce chipping and hazing.

I doubt this. I have this same sort of material, though I seriously doubt it's anything like Lamin-X, because even where it's "peeled", it looks kind of ugly underneath. The solution for me is to replace the lense.

I will do that once it gets to the point that i can see i clearly. I'll try to rip it so it's flush sort of with the edge.

Yeah - sounds like a cheap Lamin-X. I've got this "clear bra" material on my headlights too.

I am replacing my lenses because one lens chipped/cracked and this stuff looks awful.

The weird thing is that whatever material is on mine, I can't seem to remove it. I'm wondering there's something even on there at all...
