BMW E46 Speed Sensitive Volume Adjustment for MKIV Nav

Finally figured it our after doing some searching and discounting erroneous information that I found on some other forums.

Step 1-- Key to #1 position. Ensure mode is set to FM radio.

Step 2-- Turn radio off (round button on bottom left of NAV), then back on.

Step 3-- Press and hold the Select button for approximately 10 seconds until the service menu appears (you will see the radio serial number).

Step 4-- Press the right arrow (left/right arrow button) repeatedly until "GAL" appears.

Step 5-- Press the numbered program button (1-6) that corresponds to the adjustment that you desire (1=least adjustment, 6=most adjustment)

Step 6-- Turn radio off to save settings.

I figured this out yet my clock reads --:--am, haha. I love this option, speed up and the radio volume goes up and slow down and the volume goes down, and it works great.

Thanks for posting KG. You beat me to it... sorry, was busy last night and didn't get to it. BTW, one setting to check while you're in there is to make sure your radio is set to US and not EURO. It's likely US, but one person who had reception problems realized the radio was on the wrong setting.

No worries, John-- you motivated me to start searching again. Good advice on the country setting. I will check that out.

Thanks! Can't wait to try this--disabling this feature is at the top of my list. To me the radio volume is all over the place with it enabled...
