    Brake Pads & Rotors

    Hey all,

Within the next 6 months or so I'll be needing new front pads and rotors and I'm looking for some suggestions on pads and rotors.

I don't track my car so I've pretty much ruled out cross drilled or slotted rotors. They do look sweet but I can't justify the extra money. From the sites I've visited (including Smilez's post) I've seen a variety of prices even for the 'plain' rotors. Is there anything that $163 Brembos are going to do for me that $97 Centrics or $75 Meyles won't?

As far as pads go I think I've decided to go with the Akebono Euro Ceramics. From what I've read they seem to be comparable in feel to the OEM pads without all the dust. However I'm welcome to suggestions if there's a better low-dust pad out there for a daily driver.

As this will be my first real maintenance DIY project on my car I'd just like to have all the details and parts nailed down well in advance. Any and all suggestions would be appreciated.

If you do not track, standard plain OEM rotors and ceramic pads are probably your best and more cost effective bet.
Definitely hit up Ray (Brake Yourself) for some good dealz.

Centric blanks and Akebonos should be fine for you!

    Hi guys,

If you don't mind could you please provide me with a link to the web where I can purchase akebono pads and centric rotors with the best deal (if possible).

I can't give you a link but I can send you to someone who sells them. Contact Smilez (member name) here at the site.
