    I just did a price check on Tirerack. $982. Throw in the $70 gift card you get for buying those and you're looking at $912 before shipping is factored in.

    I think you can do better than that $1400, Adam.

    The Godfather has spoken. The PO put PS2's on the front right before I bought the car. I am more than pleased with them. I plan on using them again when the need arises FWIW.

    You're getting 18 inch tires. 225 on front and 255 on the rear?

    I'm a fan of the Mich tires as well.
    Yeah, I'm getting those exact specs. When I told the sales guy that I had a few more places to call, he led me to believe that I probably had a little more wiggle room in the price (hundred or so.) he then went on to tell me that his labor is higher due to their methods/ technology being superior to most tire shops. He said that they specialize in performance cars, they high speed balance on the car, and align better than the dealer itself.
    I looked at Kaufman tires website and the price wasn't that far off. Will keep shopping I suppose.
    Thanks for the input.

    Another thing I've done in the past is go to the tire shop and say, look, I got a quote of $982 (plus $70 gift card) from Tirerack.

    Can you match it? If they will, then you go that way. If they won't, then you buy from Tirerack and bring the tires in to have them mounted and balanced.

    + tax and shipping = $1216.00. Then I have to lug 4 tires to shop. Id assume they'll look to bend me right over on labor,disposal, enviro fees since they lost the tire markup. May actually cost more I think...
    LOL, nothing is ever straight forward.

    Frick. How much is shipping on those suckers??

    Man.

    That $1400 is starting to sound more reasonable.

    I just did a quote for shipping and tax to me. It would be $1100 minus the $70. That's $1030. My shipping is $58. Tax was about $88.

    Something got messed up before:

    * (2) 225/40ZR18 XL Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 $214.00
    * (2) 255/35ZR18 XL Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 $277.00
    (For some reason,at checkout, it says I may need to roll my rear fenders for this tire?)

    Sub-Total$982.00
    Shipping$48.81
    Tax$76.15
    Total: $1,106.96

    Plus I would get the 70.00 "reward card" bringing my total to $1036.96

    So, lets say I get Butler down to 1300.00 ( I know I can) Thats a difference of $263.04.

    Figure 100.00 for Alignment. Leaves me with 163.04 to cover Mounting, balancing, disposal etc, plus my time dragging 4 tires down to the shop.

    Oh well, wish this would have made more sense. At a first glance it looks like a real savings...

    Yep. Get Butler down. Makes sense.

    Nice tires, Adam. I've enjoyed those on my 335. Grip is fantastic.

    TIRERACK.com - Revolutionizing Tire Buying
    I ran PS2s on my 325iT on all four corners, with 17x8 OZ Racing Superleggeras. It was a nice setup, and lasted somewhere between 20,000 and 25,000 miles (actually, they were close to needing replacement when I got T-boned). Had my wagon not been trashed in the crash, I'd have replaced them with the same.

    When I bought the ZHP, it came with a rather awful set of Potenza RE040s; thankfully, these are now due for replacement. I considered the Dunlop Direzza Z1 StarSpecs, but I think I'll be putting on Pilot Sport PS2s, or the new (untested) SuperSports, which promise better dry performance and significantly better wear than the PS2s. Michelin offers a 30,000-mile warranty on the SuperSports (15,000 on the rears if one runs an asymmetric setup, as many of us do).
