For those wanting the Silver Cube Trim...

I have been to a local meet recently where someone had indicated to me that they wanted to have the silver cube trim in their ZHP.

Today, I did some research (with the help from a local BMW parts center) and came up with the following information for the silver cubed trim:

Part number / Nomenclature / Price
    *****************************************
    51-45-7-895-407 Decorative Strip $ 70.50
    51-45-7-895-411 Decorative Strip $ 77.50
    51-45-7-895-408 Decorative Strip $ 103.95
    51-41-7-896-094 Aluminum Decor Strip $ 112.80
    51-42-7-896-096 Aluminum Decor Strip $ 112.80
    51-41-7-896-093 Aluminum Decor Strip $ 112.80
    51-42-7-896-095 Aluminum Decor Strip $ 112.80
    51-16-7-896-088 Bottom Panel $ 127.98

I am planning to replace a few pieces as they are worn too much for my liking so I will be doing this sometime (slowly) in August when funds allow...

Just wanted to share some info for those looking to do this...

Why is it more expensive than the real wood trims? I'm very confused about the metal and plastic trims. Call me a geriatric-f***, but I think the wood is classy. Granted I don't have the Performance Package, but it seems like a lot of money for some plastic with 3-D cubes on it

For me it's a matter of keeping everything fresh. The silver cube was an option for the ZHP and since mine came with them and I just got it recently, I want to keep everything fresh inside...

As for the mechanical aspects, I have been working on this as well...keeping myself very busy with my BMW addiction...

BP knows how bad I am about this...

    Charlie,
Could you please let me know if you want to let go of your silver trim when you replace?

Probably 20% off OEM is the best one could expect for such low volume parts. And, BMW is likely the only source.
