    My Window Tint is Complete

    1st Class Tinting
    Penn Ave Telford Pa
    Carbon
    35% sides 25% rear window

Had to tell my experience. So I drop the car off at 3:30 Sat. Tim, the owner, said around 7 he'll be done. So my good neighbor drives me home. We catch the Phil's/Braves game on Fox and man Lee was sick his curve was filthy..but they lost and I'm annoyed but anyway. I call him around 7 and he says another hour.

So we run down there around 7:45 and he waves me in through his garage window and clearly he's having an issue with the sides. He has both rear passenger sides done but he says he's not happy with it. He stands back with his finger on his lips staring at it and points out some very small imperfections. Some dirt came off the window gasket and got underneath the tint. I didn't leave him my keys initially because I felt weary of doing that. But it turns out he did need those rear side windows opened so it's good he was doing those windows again. I swear I don't think I would have saw those imperfections if he had not pointed it out. So then he says, I'm taking it off and redoing it because I can't in good faith allow work like that on someone's car.

OK now as soon as he said that, I was thinking, dude you just got a customer for life! That is somebody who cares and does it the right way. I think my decision to come here to a one owner shop was the wise one. Not that there is anything wrong with going to a big place, but for me I like the one on one interactions and plus I like keep the work for the small business owner.

So anyway he says we are looking at another hour at least. So lucky for me there is an awesome Vietnamese restaurant across the street and man the food is cheap and killer. I tell Tim I'm hitting that and will be back and mentioned that he loved that place. hmmmm

So I order the Bun cha and the non-fried spring rolls, the spring rolls are just insane, fresh full of sliced beef, whole baby shrimp, mint, cilantro, rice noodles, and some other herbs with that peanut plum dipping sauce and the red hot Vietnamese hot paste they leave on the table. That is winning my friends!! So I order Tim the tinting guy the Bun cha to go. I figured the least I can do is get some food for the guy.

I headed back to the shop about an hour later and peek in and the car is done. He opens the door and I present him with the food. Man his face lit up like Christmas. He was blown away by a simple gesture and thanked me. We walked over the car and it looked bad ass. Windows looked clean, the lines follow the glass, no bubbles, no dirt, all cut by hand. I'm happy.

Then I notice he has a Victory Headwaters Pale Ale bottle on his desk.
I said Victory is a great local brew isn't it? He runs to this little fridge, pulls one out, and pops the cap and hands me a cold one. I said thanks man, I think I can drink this. After that spicy Vietnamese food a cold pale ale is spot on..

Seriously?? it's 9 PM, he just took 5 hrs to tint my car, he just shoved a cold pale ale in my hand, and he decides to knock off $30 bucks because he made me wait so long for the car! Speechless...

So the job cost me $220 bucks, an order of Bun Cha for 7.50, five hours of my time, but it was soooo worth it. I almost didn't even care about the tint job after all that. I was having fun. The guy was awesome, super friendly and just plain passionate about what he does and that was good enough for me.

Saturday - man it's fargin hot out here...wish I had some tint

    Sunday - much better

Love stories like that. Give one faith in our race. My tint story was somewhat different. What % tint did you get? Looks excellent!

That is an awesome story!!!!! After i sell my convertible i'm getting my windows tinted...there is a guy here local that does it so i'm going to give it a shot. I too like the local small shops. I think he said it was $145 for all four doors the back window and the brow. IDK what % I'm gonna get yet.

He did the 35% on sides and 25% on back. Wasn't sure about that at first, but his rational was that when you stand behind the car and look straight thru to the front and since the front windshield is not tinted it will let in more of the light thus making the rear actually look lighter when compared to the sides so by doing the rear slightly darker it actually makes all the windows appear to be the same, so I said sure why not it's only tint. I generally go with whatever the "chef" recommends, and he's the chef.

And Dane your 100% correct on the faith in our race concept. I actually left feeling like my experience was pure Americana at it's finest. I broke bread and drank a pint with the guy squeezed his hand and felt proud to give a small little guy my business. Kinda sappy I guess, but oh well. The older you get, the more the little things stand out.

Looks awesome. I like stories like that. There are still good people in this world who take pride in what they do. I wish I was in your area so I could have some killer Vietnamese food while getting a first class tint job.

BMW Gaskets do leave alot of dirt if done incorrectly, as I know.

Good thing you got someone who knew what they were doing and didn't try to lie their way out of it. Congrats
