    Yes, removing the pedal is easy.... just be careful with the clip at the bottom as I broke mine (and apparently that's common). It's just an easy pressure down to release. You don't REALLY have to have the clip, but obviously it's safer to have it. The good news is those white brackets are only $7. Ask me how I know.

    ^i broke the clip he's talking about. i didn't replace it. hasn't been an issue at all.
