serpentine belt replacement with what else?

Planning on installing a new serpentine belt. Are there any other items I should replace as preventative maintenance while I am there? I was reading that some replace both the idler and tension pulley. Also, how do i remove the automatic transmission fan? Thanks.

The DIY shows the tools for the fan, just doesn't mention how to do it. The 32mm wrench and the hammer. It is reverse threaded. Put the wrench on the fan nut, and use the mallet to give it a good couple of whacks to loosen it (hit it clockwise if facing the fan from the front of the car).

Best DIY for removing fan is at WWW.beisansystems.com. under procedures, double vanos, fan removal. You should replace AC belt and all 3 tensioners as well.

Metal Impeller Fans have bearing issues. BMW cleared that up with the Composite Impeller Fan.

That's on the water pump but I'm talking about the pulley.
