Harbor Freight torque wrenches on sale

So I am looking to add to my small collection of tools as I am learning to do more repairs/maintenance on my own cars.

Would this be a good buy? Any of you girls or guys have one, both or the set? I've been looking at torque wrenches for a while, and the others seem like they cost so much more. These look pretty high quality and are definitely the right price.

Both are good deals. Don't know about reliability of the P wrenches though.

Be sure to use this link to make the purchase at Harbor Freight (ZHPMafia.com affiliate advertiser): http://www.dpbolvw.net/click-4193730-10810933

I was actually at Harbor Freight this morning picking up a jack. I'm about to go back and pick up the 3/8" torque wrench.

There is an article on one of my tool forums where there were a few torque wrenches tested, the snap on digital CDI wrench was less accurate then the pittsburg wrench.

the difference was ± 3% for Snap on and ± 4% for Pittsburg but snap on was at the ± 7% range and pittsburg was only ± 3%.
there were others like craftsman, Kobalt, mac tools, cornwell.

I have the 3/8" torque wrench....do NOT use it for anything under 20ft/lbs, it won't click properly. Otherwise, works great.

Which would be recommended for torque-ing lug bolts?

    3/8" drive 5-80 ft/lb
    1/2" drive 20-150 ft/lb

    Figure I'd get the 3/8" since I already have a 3/8" 17mm socket.

Suppose I could get a 1/2 -> 3/8" adapter for my socket if I went with the 1/2" torque wrench.

    1/2"- 2 to 150ft-lbs.

    The 5 to 80 ft-lb won't get to 89ft-lbs.

I have the HF 1/4" and 1/2" torque wrenches and feel they are decent quality but not super quality. That said, I use them all the time--the 1/2" one for wheel bolts/nuts, reinforcement plate bolts, strut pinch bolts, swaybar link to strut bolts, rear shock lower bolts, alternator bolts, etc. I use the 1/4" torque wrench less frequently, but it's been handy for water pump and P/S pulleys, valve cover bolts, VANOS replacement, and thermostat bolts. The problem is I don't trust the 1/2" one below 30 foot-lbs and can't use the 1/4" one above 16 foot-lbs. So I was thinking of buying their 3/8" one to handle drain plugs.

After using my original 1/2" HF torque wrench for nearly 2 years, I felt it was under-torquing the wheel nuts so I exchanged it for a new one at HF.
