When the price difference between brake kits is in the 4 figures, you make shit work, even if you have to cut dust shields to do it!

Now that I’ve met both of you this “heated debate” is getting really amusing.

Not a debate really. Just facts. I speak in facts. And.... I didn't want 50 Mafia members buying Wlwoods, then burning my house down.

True dat, I basically have no dust shields. My Dremel got a workout in November. *edit* and so did my ear-pro. A small metal cutting disc + dust shield vibrations = one hell of a racket.

    Charrie's ZHP project

I have Brembo GT BBKs installed on my M3 and Porsche (6-pot front/4-pot rear) and I want to complete my BMWP BBKs on my ZHP so I will get my rear 135i calipers mounted once I get my rear rotors diameter machined.....I just need to shave off 2mm on the diameter....

Everyone have their preferences/reasons for their choice of BBKs and that’s okay as far as I’m concerned. Whatever works best for them

So shaving 2mm off the rotor means no modification to the dust shield?

No the dust shield has to go no matter what. The M3 rotors have less backspacing than the 330 (same wheel hub, but the rotor faces sit further in). You can barely mount the rotor in place with the dust shields intact, much less spin them.

I’m honestly not sure why they need to be machined, unless the BMWP rotors are 2mm too large? My StopTech rotors didn’t require modification.

M3 rotors are a different offset from the 330 rotors on my car so dust shields still have to be modded/cut to allow sufficient clearance of the new rotors.
